Hello! My name is Dara, I am an illustrator and printmaker based in the midwest where I have made a home for my studio practices with the best beagle there ever was and a very tall mustachioed string bean. My work merges both traditional and digital techniques for a nostalgic warm feel.
Since I could hold a crayon, albeit, with a nontraditional grip, I have had dreams of becoming a professional illustrator. That dream led me to pursue my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Illustration at the Herron School of Art and Design.
After art school, I fell in love with growing and ended up working full-time at a small-scale regenerative practices farm. Putting your hands in the dirt is extremely rewarding (seriously though you should try it sometime)— I just couldn’t stay away from the art world. Now my messes are less plant-based and a little more graphite oriented.
I am absolutely thrilled to be able to share my artwork with you and it means so much to me that you are here <3
